The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund 2019 Awards beauty looks showed celebrities are partial to a glossy lip. Everyone provided their own take with different hairstyles and eye makeup.
Paloma Elsesser’s graphic eyeliner with its dots and crease line added a mod finish to her look. The shapes also worked with the ink splatter pattern of her dress. Her gelled updo and glossy lips supported the statement eyes.
Rather than going the traditional red lipstick route, Anna Baryshnikov’s eyes were dusted with glittering gold shadow and her lips accentuated with pink lip gloss. Her hair was swept into a classic updo.
Barely there makeup, consisting of pink lipstick and thin black eyeliner allowed Candice Swanepoel’s wavy hair and flower to be the main focus. The hair accessory added color and a tropical feeling.
Gigi Hadid’s natural makeup recalled 90s beauty with her brown eyeshadow and caramel neutral lipstick. Her wet-look bun was in keeping with the effortless feeling.
The model contrasted her classic tuxedo with bounds of tousled waves with a messy part. Matte neutral lipstick and black mascara played into the feminine/masculine mood.
Julia Schlaepfer’s beauty look has clearly been considered to tie into her outfit. Her half updo with black bow echoed the closure of her jacket. Her rimmed black eyes and neutral lipstick had a mod feeling.
Kat Graham’s sleek bob and glossy brown makeup didn’t compete with the exaggerated green bow on her dress.
Jasmine Tookes also adhered to an understated makeup look with shimmering brown eyeshadow and lip gloss. Her dark hair was parted down the center and styled straight.
Ashley Graham brought a little Old Hollywood glamour with her glossy side-parted waves. Her double winged black eyeliner and neutral lipstick brought some 1960s into the mix.
Jameela Jamil demonstrated how to expertly coordinate makeup to an outfit with her graphic sweep of chartreuse eyeliner. Fuchsia pink lipstick added even more color to the face. Her signature tousled waves and thick fringe balanced the electric makeup.
There was something darkly romantic about Bella Hadid’s frosty lilac makeup and lip gloss paired with the high bun with double tendrils. It kept the Halloween spirit alive without becoming cliché or costumey.
La La Anthony
La La Anthony framed her half updo with rhinestones. Her coppery brown eyeshadow and golden neutral lipstick brought in the rich tangerine silk of her outfit without being matchy-matchy.
Kathryn Gallagher’s rich red lipstick was the perfect complement to her strong brows and defined full waves.
Her wet-look bob worked with the sheeny finish of her makeup including her lip gloss and shimmering eyeshadow.
